1lbsalmon fillet, skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces
3tablespoonshoney
2tablespoonssoy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
2clovesgarlic, minced
1teaspoonfresh ginger, grated
1tablespoonsesame oil
0.5teaspoonred pepper flakes (optional for heat)
to tastesalt and pepper
2green onions, finely sliced (for garnish)
sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Add the salmon bites to the marinade, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to an hour in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
Once marinated, remove the salmon bites from the marinade (reserve the marinade for later) and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook the salmon bites in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
While the salmon is cooking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Once the salmon bites are done, remove them from the air fryer and drizzle the thickened honey garlic sauce over them. Toss gently to coat.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
